Hi there! My name is Alyssa Brazil, also known as “Coach Alyssa” to the littles I’ve worked with. I am thrilled to share my passion for soccer and youth development with the Brookings community. Originally from Sioux Falls, SD, I first came to Brookings to play soccer at South Dakota State University. After graduation, I chose to stay because I loved the close-knit, family-like atmosphere that makes this community so special.

Soccer has been a part of my life since I was seven years old, and my love for the game has only grown over the years. I have been coaching young players for the past eight years, focusing not only on developing their technical skills but also on fostering their social and emotional growth. I believe that soccer is more than just a game—it’s a powerful tool for teaching teamwork, perseverance, and confidence.

Beyond coaching, I am also a dedicated educator with seven years of teaching experience in Kindergarten and First Grade. My background in education allows me to connect with young athletes in a meaningful way, helping them develop both on and off the field.
